Indian's 2022 FTR is a flat-track-bred street roadster built around the liquid-cooled FTR 1200 V-twin, with a bare, upright cockpit that skips a touchscreen entirely — that year's lineup ran from S White Smoke and Titanium Smoke to the exposed-carbon R Carbon Carbon Fiber and the racing-graphics Championship Edition. HogPlay fills the empty dash with a 7-inch CarPlay and Android Auto screen that carries its own built-in speakers, so wireless maps, calls and music arrive without a factory screen to hack into — plug-and-play, off a universal USB feed, and fully reversible.
No Factory Radio — Add Your Own Screen
The 2022 Indian FTR left the factory with no radio, stereo or touchscreen to bypass — so instead of a workaround, you add your own. Under the tank the 2022 FTR pairs the FTR 1200 liquid-cooled V-twin with a naked street-tracker chassis — no fairing, no factory head unit, just upright bars and an exposed engine. That year Indian offered it in S White Smoke, Maroon Metallic, White Smoke, Titanium Smoke and Black Smoke, plus the carbon-bodied R Carbon Carbon Fiber and Carbon Carbon Fiber trims and a limited Championship Edition finished in carbon fiber with racing graphics. None of them came with Apple CarPlay from the factory, so a HogPlay 7-inch CarPlay screen with built-in speakers is the straightforward fix — it bolts to the cockpit, draws power from a universal USB feed, and comes off just as easily if you ever want the bike back to stock.
