2020 Harley-Davidson Ultra CarPlay & Android Auto Upgrades

The 2020 Harley-Davidson Ultra line splits into two very different rides — the three-wheeled Tri Glide Ultra and the two-wheeled Ultra Limited — but both share the same Boom!Box GTS infotainment stack, and that stack routes Apple CarPlay through a paired headset instead of the dash, leaving the seven-inch touchscreen without wired mirroring out of the box.

About 2020 Harley-Davidson Ultra Models

Harley built the 2020 Tri Glide Ultra and Ultra Limited around the same Boom!Box GTS head unit, a system that handles Bluetooth calls and music fine but only offers Apple CarPlay through a connected helmet or ear-bud headset. There is no wired CarPlay path and no Android Auto at all on either bike from the factory, which is a rough deal for Tri Glide owners who bought the trike specifically for long highway hauls with a passenger and full luggage.

A bypass adaptor reopens the Boom!Box GTS screen for wired use, and a Media Box layers real Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on top so both the Tri Glide Ultra and Ultra Limited get full map, message, and app support on the dash instead of through earbuds. For the full breakdown of what the stock unit supports before you buy, see our Boom!Box GTS radio page.
