The 2018 Harley-Davidson Road Glide lineup — including the Road Glide Special and Road Glide Ultra — came from the factory with a Boom! Box 4.3 or Boom! Box 6.5GT radio, not the GTS system that later brought Apple CarPlay. Adding it here takes one of two upgrade paths.

About 2018 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Models

First, a GTS retrofit: install a 2019-2023 Boom! Box GTS head unit and pair it with the HogPlay GTS Bypass to keep full-speed CarPlay running on the road. Second, skip the swap and fit an aftermarket CarPlay radio from SoundStream, Rockford Fosgate, Boss, Diamond Audio, or Aquatic AV, covered on our aftermarket radios page. Both options work across the family, including the base Road Glide, Road Glide Police, and Road Glide Ultra / Limited.

Layer a HogPlay Media Box onto either setup for streaming music and navigation, or add a USB Piglet for wired Mirror Link or AirPlay. These 2018 Road Glides don't need a headset bypass — the upgrade happens entirely at the radio.
