CarPlay Upgrades for Street Glide and Special
The 2016 Street Glide and Street Glide Special both left the factory with Boom! Box 4.3 or 6.5GT, not the CarPlay-ready GTS unit. Here's how to add Apple CarPlay or Android Auto to either one.

About 2016 Harley-Davidson Street Glide Models
Both the Street Glide and Street Glide Special ran Boom! Box 4.3 or 6.5GT from the factory, so neither came with CarPlay built in. To upgrade the Street Glide or the Street Glide Special, swap in a 2019-2023 Boom! Box GTS unit with a HogPlay GTS Bypass, or install one of the aftermarket radios built for these dash openings.
Either upgrade pairs with a HogPlay Media Box for wireless streaming and a USB Piglet for Mirror Link and AirPlay. There's no headset bypass on these bikes — the factory screen isn't locked behind one, so the whole upgrade happens at the head unit.
