About 2012 Harley-Davidson Road King Models

The 2012 Road King, Road King Classic, Road King Police, and Road King Shrine share a frame but not always a stereo. Fairing-equipped versions run a basic factory AM/FM unit, while Police and stripped-touring trims frequently ship without any audio system at all. Either way, CarPlay and Android Auto are absent by design — this generation of Road King predates that whole category of technology.

For bikes that already have a factory radio, a CarPlay-ready aftermarket radio is a direct swap into the fairing. For bikes with no factory audio, or riders who want to keep the original gauges untouched, a HogPlay Media Screen mounts at the bars and adds wireless CarPlay and Android Auto on its own. The Road King Police and Road King Shrine both typically go this route.
