The 2011 Harley-Davidson Nightster is the Sportster line at its most stripped-down — blacked-out engine covers, minimal bodywork, a low-slung stance, and drag-style bars that put this Dark Custom in a class of its own, all driven by the torquey air-cooled Evolution 1200 (1,202cc). Late in its run before Harley folded the Nightster nameplate into the Iron 883, the 2011 model still wore the blacked-out treatment that defined it — dark powder-coat, blacked-out engine covers, and a low 25.7-inch seat height that put riders closer to the pavement than almost anything else Harley built. It was the murdered-out answer to the chrome-heavy cruisers around it, and the last of its kind before Harley folded the model away in 2013.
Mounting the HogPlay Media Screen keeps that stripped-down attitude intact. The 7-inch unit clamps straight to the handlebar, taps into power and ground with no dash to cut into or wiring harness to splice, and pairs wirelessly for CarPlay or Android Auto with sound handled by its built-in speaker. It comes off just as easily as it goes on, so the Nightster's factory look is never permanently altered.
The 2011 Nightster's short, punchy stance leaves little room for bolt-on clutter, so the HogPlay Media Screen was built to disappear into the cockpit while doing more than a standard mount. Its dual Bluetooth setup runs two connections at once: your phone for wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto navigation, and a second pairing for an amp, handlebar speakers, or a portable speaker. A built-in speaker covers voice prompts on its own if you'd rather leave the second channel unused. Fully sealed and waterproof, the housing takes the Evolution 1200's open-air riding in stride.
