2011 Harley-Davidson CarPlay Compatibility

Ten model years after the millennium, a 2011 Harley-Davidson was still running the same basic recipe: AM/FM (with Harman/Kardon speakers on some touring trims) or nothing at all on Softail, Dyna, and Sportster models. Smartphone integration simply wasn't part of the plan, and it wouldn't be for a few more model years yet.

About 2011 Motorcycles

2011 touring bikes offered the usual base AM/FM or Harman/Kardon-equipped setup, unchanged from several model years prior — Harley wouldn't introduce a touchscreen infotainment system for another three years. Non-touring models, including Softail, Dyna, and Sportster, still shipped without any factory radio at all. Nothing about the audio situation had shifted since the previous several model years, and none of it was headed toward a phone anytime soon.

Adding wireless CarPlay to a 2011 Harley-Davidson means the same two routes as the rest of this era: an aftermarket CarPlay radio for touring bikes, or a Media Screen bolted to the bars for everything else. Both installs are reversible, using existing mounting points rather than modifying the frame, fairing, or handlebars in any permanent way at all, front to back.
