The 2009 Harley-Davidson Road King Shrine is a limited tribute edition built on the classic Road King touring chassis, marking Harley's long-running partnership with the Shriners through unique badging, paint, and trim wrapped around the Twin Cam 96 big twin. Like every Road King of this era, it rolled off the line with analog gauges and, at best, a basic stock radio — no navigation, no smartphone integration. Drop in the HogPlay Media Screen and this collector-grade 2009 Road King Shrine finally gets wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on the bars.
No Factory Radio — Add Your Own Screen
The 2009 Harley-Davidson Road King Shrine left the factory with no radio, stereo or touchscreen to bypass — so instead of a workaround, you add your own. A standalone HogPlay Media Screen is a 7-inch head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, live Maps & Waze navigation, calls and streaming built in — we recommend the Screen 7 Pro with its onboard DVR drive-cam. Most riders settle for Bluetooth-only kits that leave the phone in your pocket with no turn-by-turn directions; this puts it all on the bars instead. It mounts to the handlebars with basic power and ground and comes off just as easily, so reach out to the HogPlay team if you'd like a hand. (Media Box support on Screens is in development.)

Beyond its ceremonial paint and Shrine-specific touches, this Road King rides on the same fork-mounted fairing, big saddlebags, and torquey Twin Cam 96 that made the Road King a touring favorite through the 2007-2013 model years. It's a bike built for long highway miles, and long miles are exactly where a factory radio's absence is felt most.
The HogPlay Media Screen mounts to the handlebars in view of the rider, wires straight to a switched power source and ground, and requires no dash cutting or fairing modification. Because the mount is reversible, it comes off just as easily if the bike ever needs to go back to stock for a show or a sale.
Every HogPlay Media Screen runs dual Bluetooth, so a 2009 Road King Shrine rider can pair a phone for wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto while a second channel feeds an auxiliary amp, handlebar speakers, or a portable Bluetooth speaker. A small built-in speaker handles turn-by-turn voice prompts and light audio on its own, no external speaker required. The whole unit is fully sealed and waterproof, built rugged enough to shrug off rain, dust, and vibration on any road this Shrine edition rolls down.
