The 2008 Harley-Davidson V-Rod Wide Tire Anniversary landed in the model year Harley bumped every V-Rod over to the liquid-cooled Revolution 1250, and this one wore it inside a 105th Anniversary trim package with its own badging and paint. Drag-bike DNA runs through the low, stretched-out stance and the 240mm rear tire, a power cruiser built to put the engine and the road front and center, not a dashboard. Harley never wired one for audio or navigation, so the fix for this 2008 V-Rod is a bar-mounted HogPlay Media Screen that adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto without disturbing that anniversary look.

No Factory Radio — Add Your Own Screen

The 2008 Harley-Davidson V-Rod Wide Tire Anniversary (VRSCA) left the factory with no radio, stereo or touchscreen to bypass — so instead of a workaround, you add your own. A standalone HogPlay Media Screen is a 7-inch head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, live Maps & Waze navigation, calls and streaming built in — we recommend the Screen 7 Pro with its onboard DVR drive-cam. Most riders settle for Bluetooth-only kits that leave the phone in your pocket with no turn-by-turn directions; this puts it all on the bars instead. It mounts to the handlebars with basic power and ground and comes off just as easily, so reach out to the HogPlay team if you'd like a hand. (Media Box support on Screens is in development.)

We also stock universal parts that fit the 2008 Harley-Davidson V-Rod Wide Tire Anniversary (VRSCA) and most other motorcycles — standalone CarPlay screens and universal USB power.

About the 2008 Harley-Davidson V-Rod Wide Tire Anniversary (VRSCA)

The Wide Tire V-Rod took the original V-Rod Wide Tire Anniversary's drag-inspired layout — long wheelbase, forward-mounted radiator for the liquid-cooled Revolution engine, low 26-inch seat height — and grafted on the fat 240mm rear tire and hydroformed frame that had debuted on the Night Rod, giving the Anniversary Edition a wider, more planted stance than the early narrow-tire V-Rods. It's a bike built around the powertrain and the silhouette, with no allowance ever made for a stereo or screen.

HogPlay's 7-inch Media Screen mounts to the handlebars in view of the rider, runs off a simple power and ground tap into the bike's electrical system, and can be flipped for either bar orientation. No dash cutting, no fairing modification — just a compact screen added to a bike that was never meant to carry one.

Every 2008 VRSCA V-Rod Wide Tire ANV that goes without a factory radio can pick up the HogPlay Media Screen instead. Dual Bluetooth is the core of it: one channel pairs your phone for wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto on the 7-inch display, while the other feeds an auxiliary amp, handlebar speakers, or a portable Bluetooth speaker so the sound actually carries at highway speed. A small built-in speaker handles turn-by-turn voice prompts and light audio on its own. The whole unit is fully sealed and waterproof, built rugged enough to live on the bars through rain, heat, and vibration for the long haul.
