About 2008 Motorcycles
2008 touring bikes offered Harman/Kardon speakers as a step up from the base AM/FM setup, both feeding off the same simple tuner with no digital inputs. That was as sophisticated as Harley audio got that year. Everywhere else in the lineup — Softail, Dyna, Sportster — riders had no stereo of any kind to work with, upgraded or otherwise. A styling refresh a few years later wouldn't touch the audio question either.
Wireless CarPlay reaches a 2008 Harley-Davidson through an aftermarket CarPlay radio on touring models, keeping whatever Harman/Kardon speakers are already there, or through a Media Screen mounted to the bars on everything else. Both kits are a direct fit without splicing into the factory harness, which keeps a resale-ready bike looking fully stock underneath the tank, seat, and fairing panels.
