The 2008 Harley-Davidson Rocker turned Softail styling on its head with a raked-out chopper stance, a wide 240mm rear tire, and an axle-mounted, frame-integrated rear fender that shifts with the swingarm — one of the most distinctive Softails Harley ever built. Power comes from the Twin Cam 96 big twin, fresh that year with a smoother-running counter-balanced platform. What the Rocker never got was a factory radio or infotainment system. HogPlay fixes that with the 7-inch bar-mounted HogPlay Media Screen, adding wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to this 2008 Rocker.

No Factory Radio — Add Your Own Screen

The 2008 Harley-Davidson Rocker left the factory with no radio, stereo or touchscreen to bypass — so instead of a workaround, you add your own. A standalone HogPlay Media Screen is a 7-inch head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, live Maps & Waze navigation, calls and streaming built in — we recommend the Screen 7 Pro with its onboard DVR drive-cam. Most riders settle for Bluetooth-only kits that leave the phone in your pocket with no turn-by-turn directions; this puts it all on the bars instead. It mounts to the handlebars with basic power and ground and comes off just as easily, so reach out to the HogPlay team if you'd like a hand. (Media Box support on Screens is in development.)

We also stock universal parts that fit the 2008 Harley-Davidson Rocker and most other motorcycles — standalone CarPlay screens and universal USB power.

About the 2008 Harley-Davidson Rocker

Harley built the Rocker for two years, 2008-2009, as a factory custom aimed squarely at riders who wanted chopper attitude without the fabrication bill — that low, hardtail-look rear end and fat tire made it an outlier in the Softail lineup even by Harley's own standards. It's a bike built for open-road cruising, which is exactly where a screen earns its keep.

Installation keeps things simple: the HogPlay Media Screen clamps to the handlebars in clear sightline, runs two wires to switched power and ground, and mounts reversible for left- or right-side placement depending on how your Rocker's controls and cables are routed. No dash cutting, no factory harness splicing — just a clean bar-mount unit that brings modern phone mirroring to a bike that never had it.

Every HogPlay Media Screen built for the 2008 Rocker runs dual Bluetooth, so one channel pairs your phone for wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto while the second channel feeds an auxiliary amp, handlebar speakers, or a portable Bluetooth speaker of your choice. A small built-in speaker handles turn-by-turn voice prompts and light audio right out of the box, and the whole unit is fully sealed and waterproof, built rugged enough to shrug off rain, road grime, and everything else a Rocker sees on the open road.

Android Auto on the 2008 Harley-Davidson Rocker: HogPlay makes the 2008 Harley-Davidson Rocker run wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay — compare every Android Auto for Harley-Davidson & Indian motorcycles option, then confirm your exact fit with What Fits.
