The 2005 Harley-Davidson Springer Classic wears its old-school heart on its sleeve — that exposed leaf-spring front end pays direct homage to Harley's 1940s roots, paired with laced wheels, a leather-strapped tool pouch, and fringed saddlebags for full nostalgic effect. Under the tank sits the Twin Cam 88B, the Softail line's counter-balanced 1450cc V-twin. What it doesn't have is a factory radio or screen of any kind. The fix is the 7-inch HogPlay Media Screen, adding wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to a bike that predates all of it.

No Factory Radio — Add Your Own Screen

The 2005 Harley-Davidson Springer Classic left the factory with no radio, stereo or touchscreen to bypass — so instead of a workaround, you add your own. A standalone HogPlay Media Screen is a 7-inch head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, live Maps & Waze navigation, calls and streaming built in — we recommend the Screen 7 Pro with its onboard DVR drive-cam. Most riders settle for Bluetooth-only kits that leave the phone in your pocket with no turn-by-turn directions; this puts it all on the bars instead. It mounts to the handlebars with basic power and ground and comes off just as easily, so reach out to the HogPlay team if you'd like a hand. (Media Box support on Screens is in development.)

We also stock universal parts that fit the 2005 Harley-Davidson Springer Classic and most other motorcycles — standalone CarPlay screens and universal USB power.

About the 2005 Harley-Davidson Springer Classic

Harley built the Springer Classic to look like it rolled straight out of the 1940s, right down to the girder-style front suspension bouncing on visible coil springs instead of a hidden telescopic fork. The Twin Cam 88B underneath is smoothed out by Softail's internal counterbalancer, so the retro styling doesn't come with a retro amount of vibration. None of that heritage engineering touches infotainment, though — this bike left the factory with no screen and no way to run navigation or music through the bars.

The HogPlay Media Screen bolts to the handlebars in view of the rider, wires straight to a power and ground source, and pairs wirelessly with a phone for CarPlay or Android Auto. It mounts reversibly, so nothing about the Springer's classic front-end look gets permanently altered to add modern connectivity.

Turn any 2005 Springer Classic into a connected ride with the HogPlay Media Screen, a sealed, waterproof unit built to shrug off rain and road grime on a bike with old-school exposed styling. Dual Bluetooth channels let it pair wirelessly with your phone for CarPlay or Android Auto while separately feeding an auxiliary amp, bar-mounted speakers, or a portable Bluetooth speaker. A small built-in speaker handles turn-by-turn prompts and light audio on its own, no extra hardware required.
