The 2003 Harley-Davidson Heritage Springer is nostalgia built into steel — a springer front end with exposed leaf-spring action, deeply skirted fenders, and wire wheels that echo the Hydra-Glides of the 1940s, all riding on the air-cooled Twin Cam 88 that powered every Softail that model year (2003 also being Harley's 100th Anniversary). What it never got was a factory radio. Owners fix that with the bar-mounted HogPlay Media Screen, bringing wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to a bike that predates infotainment entirely.

No Factory Radio — Add Your Own Screen

The 2003 Harley-Davidson Heritage Springer left the factory with no radio, stereo or touchscreen to bypass — so instead of a workaround, you add your own. A standalone HogPlay Media Screen is a 7-inch head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, live Maps & Waze navigation, calls and streaming built in — we recommend the Screen 7 Pro with its onboard DVR drive-cam. Most riders settle for Bluetooth-only kits that leave the phone in your pocket with no turn-by-turn directions; this puts it all on the bars instead. It mounts to the handlebars with basic power and ground and comes off just as easily, so reach out to the HogPlay team if you'd like a hand. (Media Box support on Screens is in development.)

We also stock universal parts that fit the 2003 Harley-Davidson Heritage Springer and most other motorcycles — standalone CarPlay screens and universal USB power.

About the 2003 Harley-Davidson Heritage Springer

The Heritage Springer trades modern suspension tech for old-world charm on purpose — that front springer fork, the whitewall tires, and the wide, valanced fenders were styled to look like they rolled off the line decades before 2003 actually happened, even while the Twin Cam 88 underneath handled the real work of moving the bike down the road. It's a design that never made room for a dash screen, and nobody's cutting into those fenders or that classic tank to add one now.

The HogPlay Media Screen skips all that. It clamps to the handlebars in plain view, runs two wires to power and ground, and mounts reversibly so nothing about the Heritage Springer's factory look gets permanently altered.

Every HogPlay Media Screen runs dual Bluetooth, so a 2003 Heritage Springer rider can keep a phone paired for wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto while a second channel feeds an auxiliary amp, handlebar speakers, or a portable Bluetooth speaker. A small built-in speaker covers turn-by-turn voice prompts and light audio on its own if that's all you want. The whole unit is sealed and waterproof, built rugged enough to handle whatever weather this vintage-styled Softail rides through.
