2001 Electra Glide CarPlay: Six Trims, One Legacy Deck

The 2001 Electra Glide spans six builds — Standard, Classic, Classic Shrine, and three sidecar configurations including the FLHTI. Trim level changes comfort and chrome, not the underlying legacy audio deck that every single one of these six configurations still shares in common.

About 2001 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Models

Moving up the Electra Glide ladder in 2001 — Standard to Classic to Classic Shrine — bought a rider more chrome, better seats, and passenger amenities, never a smarter stereo. The tuner stayed a legacy AM/FM unit across all six configurations, and the sidecar builds like Electra Glide Classic with Sidecar (FLHTCI) shared it too, since a third wheel doesn't touch the dash wiring. None of the six offer Bluetooth or a screen of any kind.

An aftermarket CarPlay radio replaces that deck one-for-one in the fairing opening across every trim here, adding wireless CarPlay and Android Auto without altering the factory look. Owners protecting an original dash can add a Media Screen to the bars instead, whether that's the base Electra Glide or the more common Electra Glide Classic, with the factory face left completely stock.
