About 2001 Harley-Davidson CVO Models
What separated a CVO build in 2001 was labor and materials, not electronics: custom two-tone paintwork, extra chrome, low production numbers. Audio-wise, all three CVO models used the same Harman/Kardon-tuned hardware as their Ultra-trim counterparts, feeding into a legacy tuner with no Bluetooth, no aux, no way to display a phone screen. A collector picking up a CVO for the exclusivity is getting the same 2001-era radio limitations as everyone else in the touring lineup.
The upgrade path doesn't need to touch that custom paint — an aftermarket CarPlay radio fits the CVO fairing opening on the CVO Road Glide exactly as it does on the CVO Electra Glide. For owners unwilling to swap any part of an original CVO dash, the bar-mounted Media Screen leaves the factory face completely alone, running as its own independent CarPlay source.
