The 2000 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy still wears the solid disc wheels and blacked-out styling that made the model an icon since 1990, and this year it picks up the freshly redesigned Twin Cam 88 that had just replaced the Evolution across the Softail lineup. It's a stripped-down cruiser built for attitude, not electronics — Harley never fitted a factory radio or display to this generation of Fat Boy. The 2000 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy left the factory with no radio, stereo or touchscreen to bypass — so instead of a workaround, you add your own. Introduced in 1990 as Harley's answer to hot-rod minimalism, the Fat Boy built its reputation on fat 16-inch tires, solid Lester-style wheels front and rear, and a bare-bones instrument cluster that leaves no room for infotainment. The 2000 model's Twin Cam 88 brought more low-end torque than the outgoing Evolution while keeping the same rigid-look Softail chassis and hardtail styling riders wanted.

The 7-inch unit clamps to the handlebar, taps a 12-volt power and ground wire under the tank or behind the headlight nacelle, and pairs wirelessly with a phone for CarPlay or Android Auto. It's fully reversible, so the Fat Boy's factory look and stock wiring stay untouched if the screen ever comes off.
