The turn of the millennium changed nothing about how a Harley handled audio. Electra Glides and Road Kings had a basic AM/FM head unit good for local radio and not much else, while Softail, Dyna, and Sportster models had no speakers or tuner at all — riders supplied their own portable radio if they wanted sound on the road. Aftermarket clip-on units were about the only workaround available at the time.

A 2000 Harley-Davidson touring bike gets real wireless CarPlay through an aftermarket head-unit swap, while non-touring models pick up their first factory-style display with a handlebar Media Screen, no wiring harness surgery required either way. Both bolt to existing mounting points, so nothing on the frame or fairing needs to be drilled, even on the oldest touring dash.
