1998 Road King & Road King Classic CarPlay Fitment

1998 adds the Road King Classic to the family, alongside standard Road King, Police, and two sidecar builds — five variants total, and every single one of them shares one thing in common: absolutely no factory-installed stereo, speakers, or wiring of any kind whatsoever, straight off the factory floor.

About 1998 Harley-Davidson Road King Models

Even with the new-for-1998 Road King Classic added to the lineup, none of the five variants here — Road King, Road King Classic, Road King Police, or either sidecar rig (FLHRCI, FLHRI) — came from the factory with a stereo, speakers, or audio wiring. Road King's styling still prioritized a lighter, classic touring look over the full fairing that carries a radio on other Harley tourers.

A bar-mounted HogPlay Media Screen covers every 1998 Road King trim the same way, adding wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto without a factory dash to build into or rewire. That includes the Road King Classic and the FLHRCI sidecar. It's the same fix used across the Softail & Cruiser family that year, with the identical mount and screen size.
