By 1998 the Dyna Low Rider had refined its stripped-down, low-riding formula around the same Evolution 1340 — and the same bare instrument cluster.

The HogPlay Media Screen adds a 7-inch bar-mounted touchscreen, wired straight to power and ground, so the 1998 Low Rider finally gets wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

No Factory Radio — Add Your Own Screen

The 1998 Harley-Davidson Low Rider left the factory with no radio, stereo or touchscreen to bypass — so instead of a workaround, you add your own. A standalone HogPlay Media Screen is a 7-inch head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, live Maps & Waze navigation, calls and streaming built in — we recommend the Screen 7 Pro with its onboard DVR drive-cam. Most riders settle for Bluetooth-only kits that leave the phone in your pocket with no turn-by-turn directions; this puts it all on the bars instead. It mounts to the handlebars with basic power and ground and comes off just as easily, so reach out to the HogPlay team if you'd like a hand. (Media Box support on Screens is in development.)

We also stock universal parts that fit the 1998 Harley-Davidson Low Rider and most other motorcycles — standalone CarPlay screens and universal USB power.

About the 1998 Harley-Davidson Low Rider

The Low Rider's drag-style handlebar gives the HogPlay 7-inch Media Screen a low, tucked mounting position that keeps the bike's lean profile intact.

Wiring taps power and ground near the headlight, and the reversible clamp mount leaves no permanent marks if it's ever removed.

The 1998 Low Rider finally gets a screen courtesy of the HogPlay Media Screen. Dual Bluetooth links to your phone for wireless CarPlay or Android Auto and, on a second channel, to an aux amp, handlebar speakers, or a portable Bluetooth speaker. A small speaker built into the unit takes care of turn-by-turn prompts by itself. The housing is fully sealed, waterproof, and rugged, built for a low rider that doesn't slow down for weather.
