By 1997 the Tour Glide name had faded from the Ultra family, leaving Ultra Classic, Ultra Classic Shrine, and a trio of sidecar variants including the FLHTCUI. Every one still ran Harley's upgraded factory AM/FM system with no digital connectivity of any kind, no matter the trim you picked.

About 1997 Harley-Davidson Ultra Models

1997's Ultra Classic lineup carried forward the same premium (for its time) factory audio setup as the year before — a fairing-mounted AM/FM head unit paired with better speakers than the base Electra Glide, spread across Ultra Classic, Ultra Classic Shrine, the FLHTCUI sidecar, and the Japan-market sidecar variant. Still no CD, no Bluetooth, no way to plug in a phone.

That factory deck swaps out for an aftermarket CarPlay radio using the same fairing mount and existing speaker wiring, adding wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to any 1997 Ultra trim without touching the bodywork.
