The 2021 Iron 1200 carries Harley's Evolution 1200 into another model year, still with the same blacked-out, minimalist cockpit and zero factory screen. There's no radio hiding under the tank and no head unit to tap into - Harley simply never put one on this bike. HogPlay's bar-mounted Media Screen becomes the bike's first head unit, adding wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto without touching any factory wiring.

No Factory Radio — Add Your Own Screen

The 2021 Harley-Davidson Iron 1200 left the factory with no radio, stereo or touchscreen to bypass — so instead of a workaround, you add your own. A standalone HogPlay Media Screen is a 7-inch head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, live Maps & Waze navigation, calls and streaming built in — we recommend the Screen 7 Pro with its onboard DVR drive-cam. Most riders settle for Bluetooth-only kits that leave the phone in your pocket with no turn-by-turn directions; this puts it all on the bars instead. It mounts to the handlebars with basic power and ground and comes off just as easily, so reach out to the HogPlay team if you'd like a hand. (Media Box support on Screens is in development.)

We also stock universal parts that fit the 2021 Harley-Davidson Iron 1200 and most other motorcycles — standalone CarPlay screens and universal USB power.

About the 2021 Harley-Davidson Iron 1200

The 2021 Iron 1200 still runs Harley's Evolution 1200 and keeps the stripped, blacked-out cockpit that defines this model - a single gauge, narrow bars, and no screen of any kind. Harley never built a radio or display into this bike, so there's nothing to upgrade, swap, or bypass on the electronics side.

That absence becomes obvious the moment a rider wants navigation, hands-free calls, or music playback on the move. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto solve that cleanly, putting a full interface on the bars instead of relying on a phone propped in a mount.

For a bike with no factory radio, a HogPlay Media Screen is the direct answer rather than an add-on to an existing system. The 7-inch, bar-mounted unit is self-contained: it wires to power and ground, and runs wireless CarPlay and Android Auto on its own. Bluetooth audio in and out means it can also send sound to a portable Bluetooth speaker or connect with an amplifier and speaker system already mounted on the bike, in addition to its own built-in speakers.

The HogPlay Media Screen on the 2021 Harley-Davidson Iron 1200 runs a dual-Bluetooth design — pair your phone for wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto on one channel while the other feeds an auxiliary amplifier, handlebar speakers or a portable Bluetooth speaker. A small built-in speaker handles turn-by-turn voice prompts and light audio on the move, and the fully sealed, waterproof housing is built rugged to stand up to the weather and the elements the 2021 Harley-Davidson Iron 1200 rides in.
