The 2018 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide lineup — including the Electra Glide Ultra Classic — came factory-equipped with a Boom! Box 4.3 or Boom! Box 6.5GT radio, not the newer GTS system that added Apple CarPlay. Modernizing these bikes takes one of two upgrade routes.

About 2018 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Models

The first is a GTS retrofit: install a 2019-2023 Boom! Box GTS head unit and pair it with the HogPlay GTS Bypass to keep full-speed CarPlay running on the move. The second skips the swap for an aftermarket CarPlay radio from SoundStream, Rockford Fosgate, Boss, Diamond Audio, or Aquatic AV; see our aftermarket radios page for options. Both paths work across the family, including the base Electra Glide, Electra Glide Police, and Electra Glide Standard.

Add a HogPlay Media Box to either setup for wireless music and navigation streaming, or a USB Piglet for a wired Mirror Link or AirPlay connection. No headset bypass is needed on these 2018 Electra Glides — it's purely a head-unit upgrade.
