The 2015 Forty-Eight is the Sportster stripped to its most brutish: a peanut tank barely bigger than a fist, a fat 16-inch front tire, and blacked-out everything hanging off the air-cooled Evolution 1200. It's bobber attitude straight from the factory, but that stubby tank leaves zero room for a gauge cluster, let alone a radio — this bike left Milwaukee with bare bars and nothing else. The fix is the 7-inch HogPlay Media Screen, clamped to those bars for sound and navigation without touching the tank.
No Factory Radio — Add Your Own Screen
The 2015 Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight left the factory with no radio, stereo or touchscreen to bypass — so instead of a workaround, you add your own. A standalone HogPlay Media Screen is a 7-inch head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, live Maps & Waze navigation, calls and streaming built in — we recommend the Screen 7 Pro with its onboard DVR drive-cam. Most riders settle for Bluetooth-only kits that leave the phone in your pocket with no turn-by-turn directions; this puts it all on the bars instead. It mounts to the handlebars with basic power and ground and comes off just as easily, so reach out to the HogPlay team if you'd like a hand. (Media Box support on Screens is in development.)

Squat, wide, and low, the Forty-Eight trades touring range for pure stance — short-shot rear shocks, a low seat height, and that fat front end make it look like it's already moving at idle. The 1,202cc Evolution twin gives it the thump to match the look, but Harley never wired in an infotainment system on this model, and there's nowhere to hide one anyway.
The HogPlay screen solves that without cutting into the bike's minimalist lines. It clamps directly to the handlebar, taps into a power and ground wire under the tank, and streams audio through its own built-in speaker — no factory harness, no dash cutout, no amp to hide. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto turn the bars into a proper cockpit, and because the mount is a bolt-on clamp, the whole setup unclips in minutes if you ever want the Forty-Eight back to bone stock.
On a 2015 Forty-Eight, the HogPlay Media Screen brings modern navigation and audio to a bike that's otherwise all attitude and torque from its Evolution 1200 engine. Dual Bluetooth channels handle two tasks at once — wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto to your phone, and an auxiliary amp, handlebar speakers, or a portable Bluetooth speaker on the second. A small built-in speaker covers turn-by-turn voice prompts and light audio without any extra wiring. Fully sealed, waterproof, and rugged, the housing is made for this bike's short-hop, hard-riding lifestyle.
