The 2014 Harley-Davidson Switchback was Harley's answer to riders who couldn't decide between a cruiser and a tourer — a Dyna-based bagger with a quick-detach windshield and leather saddlebags that could pull double duty stripped down or loaded for the highway. Power came standard from the Twin Cam 103 big twin, giving the Switchback more torque off the line than a base Dyna. What it never got from the factory was any kind of infotainment — no screen, no Bluetooth, nothing. The fix is the 7-inch HogPlay Media Screen, a bar-mounted unit that brings wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to this 2014 Switchback.
No Factory Radio — Add Your Own Screen
The 2014 Harley-Davidson Switchback left the factory with no radio, stereo or touchscreen to bypass — so instead of a workaround, you add your own. A standalone HogPlay Media Screen is a 7-inch head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, live Maps & Waze navigation, calls and streaming built in — we recommend the Screen 7 Pro with its onboard DVR drive-cam. Most riders settle for Bluetooth-only kits that leave the phone in your pocket with no turn-by-turn directions; this puts it all on the bars instead. It mounts to the handlebars with basic power and ground and comes off just as easily, so reach out to the HogPlay team if you'd like a hand. (Media Box support on Screens is in development.)

Harley built the Switchback (FLD) from 2012 to 2016 as a Dyna model, and it stood out for being one of the few Dynas to come standard with the larger Twin Cam 103 rather than the 96 most of the line carried. The quick-detach windshield and saddlebags let a 2014 owner run it as a light tourer on the weekend and a leaner cruiser the rest of the week, but the cockpit stayed old-school — no display, no navigation, no way to run a phone through the bike.
The HogPlay Media Screen closes that gap without touching the wiring harness in any serious way. It mounts to the handlebar in view of the rider, taps into power and ground, and pairs wirelessly with a phone for CarPlay or Android Auto. The mount is reversible, so it goes on clean and comes off clean if the Switchback ever changes hands or heads out for a full custom rebuild.
Every HogPlay Media Screen runs dual Bluetooth, which matters on a bagger like the 2014 Switchback: one channel pairs the rider's phone for wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, while the second feeds an auxiliary amp, handlebar speakers, or a portable Bluetooth speaker clipped to the bag. A small built-in speaker handles turn-by-turn voice prompts and light audio on its own, no add-on required. The housing is fully sealed and waterproof, built to shrug off rain, road grime, and vibration mile after mile.
