The 2014 Harley-Davidson 883 Roadster is the flat-track-inspired member of the Sportster line — mid-mounted foot controls, a low, stripped-down stance, and minimal bodywork built around the air-cooled Evolution 883 (883cc) engine, favoring lean handling over cruiser bulk. Like every Sportster, it left the factory with bare handlebars and no radio. HogPlay fixes that with the 7-inch bar-mounted HogPlay Media Screen, adding sound and wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto to a bike that never had it.

No Factory Radio — Add Your Own Screen

The 2014 Harley-Davidson 883 Roadster left the factory with no radio, stereo or touchscreen to bypass — so instead of a workaround, you add your own. A standalone HogPlay Media Screen is a 7-inch head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, live Maps & Waze navigation, calls and streaming built in — we recommend the Screen 7 Pro with its onboard DVR drive-cam. Most riders settle for Bluetooth-only kits that leave the phone in your pocket with no turn-by-turn directions; this puts it all on the bars instead. It mounts to the handlebars with basic power and ground and comes off just as easily, so reach out to the HogPlay team if you'd like a hand. (Media Box support on Screens is in development.)

We also stock universal parts that fit the 2014 Harley-Davidson 883 Roadster and most other motorcycles — standalone CarPlay screens and universal USB power.

About the 2014 Harley-Davidson 883 Roadster

The 883 Roadster trades the forward-control lounge feel of other Sportsters for a tighter, more athletic riding position — mid controls put your feet under you instead of out front, and the pared-back styling keeps the focus on the frame and that Evolution 883 mill rather than chrome and fairings. It's the Sportster built for riders who want to feel the road, not hide from it.

Because that stripped-down philosophy never included a stereo, the HogPlay Media Screen mounts straight to the bars where a factory unit never existed. Installation is just two wires — power and ground — no dash to cut into, no fairing to modify. It's fully reversible, so the Roadster's minimal look goes right back to stock if you ever want it to, while giving you a built-in speaker plus wireless CarPlay and Android Auto in the meantime.

The 2014 883 Roadster's Evolution 883 engine has a lively character that pairs well with the HogPlay Media Screen's dual Bluetooth setup. One channel connects your phone for wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, while the second streams to an auxiliary amp, handlebar speakers, or a portable Bluetooth speaker. A small built-in speaker manages turn-by-turn voice prompts and light audio without any extra wiring. Because the housing is fully sealed, waterproof, and rugged, it holds up ride after ride, regardless of the weather this Roadster runs into.
