Introduced in 2013 as Harley-Davidson's answer to the drag-bike look, the Breakout stretches a fat 240mm rear tire, a lean stretched tank, and drag bars into one of the most radical factory Softail silhouettes ever built, all backed by the torque of the Twin Cam 103 big twin. What it never came with was a factory stereo. Riders wanting music or turn-by-turn on their 2013 Breakout need to add sound themselves, and the HogPlay Media Screen is built for exactly that.
No Factory Radio — Add Your Own Screen
The 2013 Harley-Davidson Breakout left the factory with no radio, stereo or touchscreen to bypass — so instead of a workaround, you add your own. A standalone HogPlay Media Screen is a 7-inch head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, live Maps & Waze navigation, calls and streaming built in — we recommend the Screen 7 Pro with its onboard DVR drive-cam. Most riders settle for Bluetooth-only kits that leave the phone in your pocket with no turn-by-turn directions; this puts it all on the bars instead. It mounts to the handlebars with basic power and ground and comes off just as easily, so reach out to the HogPlay team if you'd like a hand. (Media Box support on Screens is in development.)

The Breakout's whole design language is about attitude: a low, stretched-out stance, a wide rear tire tucked under a bobbed fender, and just enough chrome to catch the light without softening the drag-strip edge. It was one of the boldest Softail shapes Harley put into production, and the Twin Cam 103 underneath gives it the pull to match the looks. None of that came wired for audio, though, since 2013 Softails shipped without a factory infotainment system.
Adding it is a straightforward bolt-on. The HogPlay Media Screen clamps to the Breakout's drag bars, taps into a power and ground connection, and mounts reversibly so it can angle toward the rider without disturbing the bike's low, stretched lines. No dash cutting, no fairing needed, just a clean 7-inch screen sitting right where you can see it.
Built for a bike with no fairing to hide behind, the HogPlay Media Screen is fully sealed and waterproof so it shrugs off rain, road grit, and everything else a 2013 Breakout ride throws at it. Dual Bluetooth lets you pair your phone for wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto on one channel while feeding a second connection to an auxiliary amp, handlebar speakers, or a portable Bluetooth speaker, and a small built-in speaker covers turn-by-turn voice prompts and light audio on its own when you want to keep things simple.
