The 2007 Harley-Davidson Night Rod is the blacked-out street brawler of the V-Rod family, built around the liquid-cooled Revolution 1130 V-twin co-developed with Porsche — a 60-degree engine that revs harder and breathes freer than any air-cooled Big Twin in the lineup. Drag-bike stance, a stretched wheelbase, and murdered-out finish gave this bike a different kind of attitude on the street, but it left the factory with no radio or infotainment of any kind. Riders who want navigation and music on their 2007 Night Rod have to add it themselves, and the HogPlay Media Screen is built to do exactly that.
No Factory Radio — Add Your Own Screen
The 2007 Harley-Davidson Night Rod (VRSCD) left the factory with no radio, stereo or touchscreen to bypass — so instead of a workaround, you add your own. A standalone HogPlay Media Screen is a 7-inch head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, live Maps & Waze navigation, calls and streaming built in — we recommend the Screen 7 Pro with its onboard DVR drive-cam. Most riders settle for Bluetooth-only kits that leave the phone in your pocket with no turn-by-turn directions; this puts it all on the bars instead. It mounts to the handlebars with basic power and ground and comes off just as easily, so reach out to the HogPlay team if you'd like a hand. (Media Box support on Screens is in development.)

Harley built the Night Rod to go toe-to-toe with the metric power-cruiser crowd, and the Night Rod leaned into it with low flat bars, a raked-out front end, and a chassis tuned for hustle rather than distance. That aggressive, minimalist cockpit is exactly why there was never a place for a factory screen — nothing on this bike was designed with a dash or fairing in mind. HogPlay's 7-inch Media Screen solves that without reworking anything: it clamps to the handlebars in the rider's natural sightline, taps into the bike's power and ground for a clean wired connection, and turns everything else — phone, maps, music — wireless.
Installation stays simple on a Night Rod's exposed bar setup, and the mount is fully reversible, so the bike goes back to stock spec in minutes if it's ever sold or swapped.
Every HogPlay Media Screen runs on dual Bluetooth, so a 2007 VRSCD Night Rod rider can pair a phone for wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto on one channel while the second feeds an auxiliary amp, handlebar speakers, or a portable Bluetooth speaker for real volume down the highway. A small built-in speaker handles turn-by-turn voice prompts and light audio on its own, no external speaker required. The whole unit is fully sealed and waterproof, built rugged enough to shrug off rain, vibration, and everything else a stripped-down power cruiser throws at it.
