The 2007 Harley-Davidson FLHRS Road King Custom stripped the chrome off Harley's flagship tourer for blacked-out engine covers, drag-style bars, and a lean fender profile — all riding on the brand-new Twin Cam 96 that debuted across the touring line this year, mated to the 6-speed Cruise Drive transmission. Built tough enough for sidecar duty, this Road King Custom shipped with no factory radio. The fix: bolt on the 7-inch HogPlay Media Screen and bring real navigation and audio to a bike that never had it.
No Factory Radio — Add Your Own Screen
The 2007 Harley-Davidson Road King Custom with Sidecar (FLHRS) left the factory with no radio, stereo or touchscreen to bypass — so instead of a workaround, you add your own. A standalone HogPlay Media Screen is a 7-inch head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, live Maps & Waze navigation, calls and streaming built in — we recommend the Screen 7 Pro with its onboard DVR drive-cam. Most riders settle for Bluetooth-only kits that leave the phone in your pocket with no turn-by-turn directions; this puts it all on the bars instead. It mounts to the handlebars with basic power and ground and comes off just as easily, so reach out to the HogPlay team if you'd like a hand. (Media Box support on Screens is in development.)

Road King Custom trim meant Harley pulled the touring fairing and hard bags off the standard Road King and left the FLHRS with a bare, muscular stance — blacked-out powertrain, staggered shorty exhaust, and mini-ape bars for an aggressive riding position, all while keeping the big 96-cubic-inch Twin Cam's torque and the sidecar-capable frame underneath. None of that left room for a screen from the factory.
Installation is straightforward: the HogPlay Media Screen mounts to the handlebars on a clamp that fits the FLHRS's bar diameter, wires to a switched 12V power source and ground, and that's it — no dash cutting, no fairing modification. The mount is reversible, so the unit rotates for glare or comes off entirely without leaving marks on the bars.
Every HogPlay Media Screen built for a 2007 FLHRS runs dual Bluetooth: one channel pairs your phone for wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, the other feeds an amp, handlebar speakers, or a portable Bluetooth speaker. A built-in speaker on the unit handles turn-by-turn voice prompts and light audio on its own. And since a Road King Custom sees the same weather as any tourer, the housing is fully sealed, waterproof, and rugged enough for the long haul.
