The 2006 Harley-Davidson Street Rod broke from the drag-strip stance of the standard V-Rod, trading a raked-out front end for tighter geometry, mid-mount controls, and dirt-track-inspired bodywork built for carving corners instead of the quarter-mile. Power comes from the liquid-cooled, fuel-injected Revolution 1130 V-twin, a DOHC design born out of Harley's Porsche-assisted V-Rod program. Like every Street Rod off the line, this one carries no radio or infotainment - the fix is HogPlay's bolt-on 7-inch Media Screen, mounted right to the bars.
No Factory Radio — Add Your Own Screen
The 2006 Harley-Davidson Street Rod (VRSCR) left the factory with no radio, stereo or touchscreen to bypass — so instead of a workaround, you add your own. A standalone HogPlay Media Screen is a 7-inch head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, live Maps & Waze navigation, calls and streaming built in — we recommend the Screen 7 Pro with its onboard DVR drive-cam. Most riders settle for Bluetooth-only kits that leave the phone in your pocket with no turn-by-turn directions; this puts it all on the bars instead. It mounts to the handlebars with basic power and ground and comes off just as easily, so reach out to the HogPlay team if you'd like a hand. (Media Box support on Screens is in development.)

The Street Rod trim was Harley's answer to riders who loved the V-Rod's engine but wanted a bike that worked on a twisty road - shorter rake, firmer suspension, dual front discs, and footpegs tucked back under the rider instead of stretched out front. It ran for just two model years, 2006 and 2007, making it one of the rarer branches of the V-Rod line. Since the factory never wired in a stereo, the HogPlay Media Screen mounts straight to the bars with the included clamp, keeping the cockpit tight. Wiring is simple - tap a switched 12-volt power source and a solid ground - and the mount is reversible, so the screen can face normally or flip for a different cable run.
Every HogPlay Media Screen on this 2006 VRSC R Street Rod runs dual Bluetooth, so the rider's phone pairs for wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto on one channel while a second channel feeds an auxiliary amp, handlebar speakers, or a portable Bluetooth speaker. A small built-in speaker handles turn-by-turn voice prompts and light audio on its own. The housing is fully sealed and waterproof, built rugged enough to shrug off rain, road grime, and vibration mile after mile.
