The 2006 Harley-Davidson Super Glide carries the last model year of the Twin Cam 88 engine before Harley bumped Dyna power up to the 96, making this bike the final word on the original Twin Cam feel that defined the FXD lineup since 1999 — stripped-down, no-nonsense, and built around that torquey 88-cubic-inch V-twin. True to its era, the 2006 Super Glide left the factory with zero radio, zero screen, and zero infotainment. The fix: the 7-inch bar-mounted HogPlay Media Screen, giving this Super Glide wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto it never had.

No Factory Radio — Add Your Own Screen

The 2006 Harley-Davidson Super Glide left the factory with no radio, stereo or touchscreen to bypass — so instead of a workaround, you add your own. A standalone HogPlay Media Screen is a 7-inch head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, live Maps & Waze navigation, calls and streaming built in — we recommend the Screen 7 Pro with its onboard DVR drive-cam. Most riders settle for Bluetooth-only kits that leave the phone in your pocket with no turn-by-turn directions; this puts it all on the bars instead. It mounts to the handlebars with basic power and ground and comes off just as easily, so reach out to the HogPlay team if you'd like a hand. (Media Box support on Screens is in development.)

We also stock universal parts that fit the 2006 Harley-Davidson Super Glide and most other motorcycles — standalone CarPlay screens and universal USB power.

About the 2006 Harley-Davidson Super Glide

The Super Glide has always been Harley's original factory custom — a bare-bones Dyna built for riders who want power and attitude without extra chrome, and the 2006 model, running its Twin Cam 88 in carbureted or fuel-injected form depending on trim, is a solid, torque-rich example of that formula. What it never offered was any kind of dash display or audio system, which is exactly the gap the HogPlay Media Screen closes.

Installation keeps things just as simple as the bike itself: the 7-inch screen clamps to the handlebars, taps into a power and ground connection, and pairs wirelessly with your phone in minutes. The mount is fully reversible, so nothing about the 2006 Super Glide's stripped-down look or factory setup is permanently altered.

Every HogPlay Media Screen runs dual Bluetooth, so your 2006 Super Glide can pair a phone for wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto on one channel while the other feeds an auxiliary amp, handlebar speakers, or a portable Bluetooth speaker. A small built-in speaker handles turn-by-turn voice prompts and light audio right at the bars on its own. And because this Super Glide sees open road in every condition, the unit is fully sealed, waterproof, and built rugged enough to shrug off rain, dust, and vibration for the long haul.
