The 2006 Harley-Davidson Road King Police Escort closed out the Twin Cam 88 era — the last model year before the factory moved to the Twin Cam 96 — and it did its job wearing full police duty trim: fairing-free bars, saddlebags, and a fuel-injected 1450cc Twin Cam 88 built for idle-heavy, low-speed escort work day after day. Like every police-spec Road King of this generation, it left the factory with no radio or infotainment of any kind. The fix is the 7-inch HogPlay Media Screen, a bar-mounted display that brings wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to this 2006 Road King Police Escort without touching its stock electronics.
No Factory Radio — Add Your Own Screen
The 2006 Harley-Davidson Road King Police Escort left the factory with no radio, stereo or touchscreen to bypass — so instead of a workaround, you add your own. A standalone HogPlay Media Screen is a 7-inch head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, live Maps & Waze navigation, calls and streaming built in — we recommend the Screen 7 Pro with its onboard DVR drive-cam. Most riders settle for Bluetooth-only kits that leave the phone in your pocket with no turn-by-turn directions; this puts it all on the bars instead. It mounts to the handlebars with basic power and ground and comes off just as easily, so reach out to the HogPlay team if you'd like a hand. (Media Box support on Screens is in development.)

Police Road Kings were built stripped-down and purposeful — no batwing fairing, no fussy trim, just a bike suited to hour after hour of idle, stop-and-go, and escort duty on that Twin Cam 88 mill. Fleets valued it for its simplicity, and that same simplicity is exactly what makes it easy to modernize decades later: there's no factory dash or infotainment stack to work around.
The HogPlay Media Screen mounts to the handlebar in clear sightline of the rider, wires to a switched power source and ground, and pairs wirelessly with your phone once it's powered up. Installation doesn't touch the wiring harness, the fuel injection, or anything else stock on this 2006 Road King Police Escort, and the mount is reversible if you ever want the bars back to bare.
