The 2000 Road Glide split into two builds: the standard Road Glide and the sidecar-equipped Road Glide with Sidecar (FLTRI). Both wear the shark-nose fairing and both ran the same legacy AM/FM deck of the era — no CarPlay, no Bluetooth, nothing to pair a phone to.

About 2000 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Models

Frame-mounted fairing aside, the Road Glide's dash in 2000 was a straightforward AM/FM/weatherband unit shared across the touring range, with a Harman/Kardon amp on some trims for better output — not smarter input. The FLTRI sidecar variant carried the identical head unit; the extra wheel changed the ride, not the electronics. Neither version has anything resembling a screen, a USB port, or a way to talk to a smartphone out of the box.

The fix is a direct-fit aftermarket CarPlay radio sized to the Road Glide's fairing opening, replacing the legacy deck without cutting into the fairing shell. Riders who want to keep the factory radio intact instead can add a Media Screen to the bars as a second, independent CarPlay source, on either the solo Road Glide or the Road Glide with Sidecar (FLTRI).
