New for 2025 is Blue Dusk, joining Black Smoke and Sunset Red Smoke as the Chief Dark Horse's finish lineup, still built around the same air-cooled Thunder Stroke 116 and the same bare-bones cockpit Indian has used since the trim's redesign. There's a single round gauge and nothing else — no touchscreen, no factory Apple CarPlay, no Android Auto. HogPlay's answer is a 7-inch CarPlay and Android Auto screen with its own built-in speakers, wired to universal USB power so it adds full smartphone connectivity to any of the three 2025 finishes without a factory data port to tap into.
No Factory Radio — Add Your Own Screen
The 2025 Indian Chief Dark Horse left the factory with no radio, stereo or touchscreen to bypass — so instead of a workaround, you add your own. A standalone HogPlay Media Screen is a 7-inch head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, live Maps & Waze navigation, calls and streaming built in — we recommend the Screen 7 Pro with its onboard DVR drive-cam. Most riders settle for Bluetooth-only kits that leave the phone in your pocket with no turn-by-turn directions; this puts it all on the bars instead. It mounts to the handlebars with basic power and ground and comes off just as easily, so reach out to the HogPlay team if you'd like a hand. (Media Box support on Screens is in development.)

The 2025 Chief Dark Horse rounds out its color options with Black Smoke, the newly added Blue Dusk, and Sunset Red Smoke, all sitting on the same stripped-cruiser architecture and air-cooled Thunder Stroke 116 that's defined the trim since its last redesign. Indian keeps the instrument cluster to one analog gauge — there's no display to upgrade, only a blank spot to fill. HogPlay's 7-inch CarPlay and Android Auto screen fills it, carrying its own speakers so audio doesn't depend on a factory stereo that was never there, and drawing power from a universal USB connection rather than any bike-specific port. The whole kit bolts on and off without leaving a mark.
