2019 Harley-Davidson Boom! Box GTS CarPlay Bypass

2019 is the year Harley touring radios finally gained CarPlay — sort of. A 2019 Harley-Davidson Boom! Box GTS supports it, but only through a paired headset, which most riders skip entirely. Softail and Sportster models still had no factory radio at all. A real milestone, in other words, that most riders never actually got to use.

The 6.5-inch Boom! Box GTS debuted in 2019 as Harley's first CarPlay-capable touring radio, a genuine milestone after decades of AM/FM and closed touchscreens. The catch: CarPlay only activates when it's paired to a compatible Bluetooth headset, so a rider without one never actually sees it work, even though the hardware supports it. Softail and Sportster models that year had no factory radio to begin with, unaffected by any of it.

Skip the headset requirement on a 2019 Harley-Davidson GTS with a bypass adaptor and a Media Box; Softail and Sportster riders add a Media Screen instead. The bypass and Media Box combination keeps every other GTS feature — GPS, weather, Bluetooth calling — working exactly as before, just without the headset ever being required to unlock any of it.
