Factory codeFXLR
EngineMilwaukee-Eight 107
Factory head unitNo factory options — HogPlay Screen recommended
Factory USB locationNone

The 2018 Harley-Davidson Low Rider marked the first year of the reborn Softail Low Rider, stripped down and stretched out with drag-style bars, a 19-inch front wheel, and the all-new Milwaukee-Eight 107 V-twin under its tank, giving this reboot noticeably more torque and smoother running than the Dyna-based Low Riders it replaced. Sharp looks, low stance, zero factory radio. The HogPlay Media Screen bolts to the bars and brings wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to a bike that never shipped with either.

No Factory Radio — Add Your Own Screen

The 2018 Harley-Davidson Low Rider left the factory with no radio, stereo or touchscreen to bypass — so instead of a workaround, you add your own. A standalone HogPlay Media Screen is a 7-inch head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, live Maps & Waze navigation, calls and streaming built in — we recommend the Screen 7 Pro with its onboard DVR drive-cam. Most riders settle for Bluetooth-only kits that leave the phone in your pocket with no turn-by-turn directions; this puts it all on the bars instead. It mounts to the handlebars with basic power and ground and comes off just as easily, so reach out to the HogPlay team if you'd like a hand. (Media Box support on Screens is in development.)

We also stock universal parts that fit the 2018 Harley-Davidson Low Rider and most other motorcycles — standalone CarPlay screens and universal USB power.

About the 2018 Harley-Davidson Low Rider

The 2018 redesign folded Low Rider into the Softail platform for the first time, trading the old Dyna frame for a stiffer chassis, updated suspension, and the counter-balanced Milwaukee-Eight 107 that runs smoother and pulls harder than the Twin Cam it replaced. The blacked-out styling, drag bars, and mini-ape-adjacent stance made it one of the more aggressive Softails in the lineup, but like every Low Rider before it, there's no built-in navigation or phone mirroring.

The HogPlay Media Screen fixes that without touching the factory wiring harness. It clamps to the handlebars, taps into a switched power source and ground, and pairs wirelessly with your phone for turn-by-turn maps and calls. The mount is reversible, so nothing about the bike's clean factory lines gets permanently altered.

Round out the 2018 Low Rider's cockpit with the HogPlay Media Screen, a 7-inch bar-mounted unit built around dual Bluetooth so it can hold two connections at once — one channel pairs to your phone for wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, while the second feeds an auxiliary amp, handlebar speakers, or a portable Bluetooth speaker for real volume on the road. A small built-in speaker handles turn-by-turn prompts and light audio on its own, and the housing is fully sealed and waterproof, so rain, road grime, and vibration are non-issues for a bike that's meant to be ridden hard.
