The 2017 Harley-Davidson Street Rod was the sportiest thing to wear the Street badge — a stripped-down, liquid-cooled urban brawler built around the High Output Revolution X 749cc V-twin, with sharper steering geometry, firmer suspension, and more lean angle than the standard Street 750 it was based on. Harley never wired a radio or infotainment display into this platform, so riders who want turn-by-turn navigation and music get there with the HogPlay Media Screen, a 7-inch bar-mounted display that brings wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to a 2017 Street Rod that left the factory without any of it.
No Factory Radio — Add Your Own Screen
The 2017 Harley-Davidson Street Rod left the factory with no radio, stereo or touchscreen to bypass — so instead of a workaround, you add your own. A standalone HogPlay Media Screen is a 7-inch head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, live Maps & Waze navigation, calls and streaming built in — we recommend the Screen 7 Pro with its onboard DVR drive-cam. Most riders settle for Bluetooth-only kits that leave the phone in your pocket with no turn-by-turn directions; this puts it all on the bars instead. It mounts to the handlebars with basic power and ground and comes off just as easily, so reach out to the HogPlay team if you'd like a hand. (Media Box support on Screens is in development.)

Harley built the Street Rod as a short-run performance variant, tuning the Revolution X liquid-cooled twin for more midrange punch and pairing it with inverted forks, a wider rear tire, and clip-on-style ergonomics that put the rider in a more aggressive stance than any other Street model. It's a small, light, sharp-handling machine — and like the rest of the Street lineup, it shipped with a bare instrument cluster and zero connectivity.
The HogPlay Media Screen closes that gap without touching the bike's electronics. It clamps to the handlebars in view of the rider, taps into a switched power and ground source, and runs wireless CarPlay or Android Auto straight off the rider's phone for navigation, calls, and music. Mounting is reversible, so nothing about the Street Rod's factory wiring or bodywork is permanently altered.
Every HogPlay Media Screen built for a 2017 Street Rod runs dual Bluetooth, so the rider can keep a phone paired for wireless CarPlay or Android Auto while a second channel feeds an auxiliary amp, handlebar speakers, or a portable Bluetooth speaker. A small built-in speaker handles turn-by-turn prompts and light audio on its own when nothing else is hooked up. The housing is fully sealed and waterproof, rated for the vibration, rain, and road grime that come with running a Street Rod through anything the weather throws at it.
