The 2017 Harley-Davidson Heritage Classic represents the final year of the classic Twin Cam Softail chassis before Harley's 2018 redesign, and it wears that heritage proudly — full-length fenders, whitewall tires, a quilted leather seat, and script tank badges over a torquey Twin Cam 103 engine. It's a bike built for two-up cruising on nostalgia, not screens, and Harley never wired one in. Riders adding music and navigation to their 2017 Heritage Classic turn to the HogPlay Media Screen.

No Factory Radio — Add Your Own Screen

The 2017 Harley-Davidson Heritage Classic left the factory with no radio, stereo or touchscreen to bypass — so instead of a workaround, you add your own. A standalone HogPlay Media Screen is a 7-inch head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, live Maps & Waze navigation, calls and streaming built in — we recommend the Screen 7 Pro with its onboard DVR drive-cam. Most riders settle for Bluetooth-only kits that leave the phone in your pocket with no turn-by-turn directions; this puts it all on the bars instead. It mounts to the handlebars with basic power and ground and comes off just as easily, so reach out to the HogPlay team if you'd like a hand. (Media Box support on Screens is in development.)

We also stock universal parts that fit the 2017 Harley-Davidson Heritage Classic and most other motorcycles — standalone CarPlay screens and universal USB power.

About the 2017 Harley-Davidson Heritage Classic

The Heritage Classic pairs Softail cruiser proportions with big-touring comfort — a full wrapped windshield, leather saddlebags, a sprung solo-style two-up seat, and enough chrome to catch every gas-station conversation. Under the tank, the air-cooled Twin Cam 103 makes strong low-end torque for relaxed highway pulls, exactly the kind of engine that rewards a laid-back ride rather than a screen full of menus.

The HogPlay Media Screen mounts to the handlebar, right where a rider's eyes already sit. Installation is straightforward: a compact 7-inch display wired to power and ground, no dash cutting or fairing modification required on the Heritage Classic. It mounts reversibly, so it comes off clean if the bike ever goes back to stock, and once it's up, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto pop right onto the bars.

Every HogPlay Media Screen built for the 2017 Heritage Classic runs dual Bluetooth, so a rider's phone connects wirelessly for CarPlay or Android Auto while a second channel feeds an auxiliary amp, handlebar speakers, or a portable Bluetooth speaker. A small built-in speaker handles turn-by-turn prompts and light audio on its own. The whole unit is fully sealed, waterproof, and built rugged enough for whatever weather the Heritage Classic rides through.
